The success of “Four Christmases” is good news for Hollywood, the economy and fans of Reese Witherspoon everywhere. Do you remember how good she was as Tracy Flick in “Election”? I think someone in Wasilla, Alaska used her as a role model.
Anyway, it’s also good news for Clyde Wright, the ex-Angel lefty and now the club’s director of alumni relations and unofficial chairman of press box entertainment.
I believe Clyde got this one from his Blue Collar buddy Bill Engvall. Anyway, he came up to me one night and said, in his Tennessee brogue:
“Did you hear about the actress that got stabbed in Hollywood today?”
Why, no, Clyde. Who was it?
Clyde furrowed his brow and looked at the ceiling.
“Uh….Reese? Reese?”
Witherspoon?
“Naw,” yelled Clyde, laughing already. “It was with a knife!”
Try it. It never fails.
